How does Tick Shield for Dogs work?

AniForte's Tick Shield capsules consist of a combination of brewer's yeast and thiamine - also known as vitamin B1. Vitamin B influences various metabolic processes in the body and can, among other things, cause the natural skin scent to change into a scent repulsive to ticks. However, this is hardly, if at all, noticeable by humans.

A study shows that thiamine supplements have a repulsive effect on fleas, and further experience suggests that ticks are deterred in a similar way, although there is no scientific evidence for this as of yet and the reaction may vary from animal to animal.

Some dry or wet food does not contain enough thiamine to ensure a normal supply of vitamin B. This can negatively affect normal vitamin B metabolism (note that cats need three times as much thiamine as dogs).

Our special combination of brewer's yeast and thiamine provides an odourless formula adapted to the needs of your pet through mixing and grinding processes. Our proven mixture helps maintain the natural skin barrier of your four-legged friend.

Instructions:

1 capsule daily (for a long-lasting effect). The capsule can be given as a treat or added to the feed - ideally 1-3 hours before walking. The capsules usually have a good acceptance rate and are also readily accepted by fussy eaters.
