Healthy joints rely on cartilage and on the synovial fluid that cushions them. Both depend on a group of natural building blocks called glycosaminoglycans, or GAGs. Dogs can't always produce these in the quantities they need — and that becomes more noticeable with age, with weight, and with a lifetime of enthusiastic running about.
That's the gap a daily supplement is there to help fill.
Why Green Lipped Mussel?
Our Green Lipped Mussel comes from a licensed marine farm in New Zealand, where the whole mussel is gently freeze-dried rather than extracted. It's a small detail that matters: keeping the whole mussel means the natural fat content stays at around 8%, and with it the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Nothing artificial, no fillers, no cereals.
Alongside those fatty acids, green lipped mussel is naturally rich in GAGs, glucosamine and chondroitin — the raw materials your dog's joints are built and maintained from. Fed daily, it helps lubricate and cushion in and around the joints, which is why it suits both young dogs in hard work and seniors taking things more gently.

A tip for the powder: start with half the daily amount for the first three to five days so your dog gets used to it, then build up. If you find some clumping in the tub, that's completely normal for a natural product — just break it up with a fork. The capsule shells, by the way, are vegan.
How long before you notice anything?
Honestly, it varies. Some owners tell us they see a difference within a few days; for other dogs it takes a few weeks of daily feeding. It's a natural supplement rather than a quick fix, so the rule of thumb is to give it consistently and judge it over a month or so rather than a weekend.
Most people simply keep it going year-round, since the nutrients are needed continuously. If you'd rather not, feeding it in blocks of eight to ten weeks, one to three times a year, when they need it most, is a sensible alternative.
It's well tolerated by most dogs, with only very occasional mild digestive upset. For puppies, pregnant dogs, or an older dog with a diagnosed health problem, have a quick word with your vet before you start — and if your dog is finding it genuinely difficult to get up or move about, that's a conversation for your vet rather than a supplement.
